I’m going to be controversial here – Qualifications are important; however, it depends!  It’s not enough simply to know the qualifications of a coach; we must also consider their demonstrated experience. How have they lived and breathed business, marketing or life coaching?

If you come across someone with plenty of evidence that demonstrates success but no formal qualification in those fields, should it be an automatic ‘no’?

Absolutely not!

What type of coaching methods do they use?

It’s important to know what kind of coaching style your prospective coach uses so that it aligns with your goals and values.

Knowing how your coach approaches their work can also help determine if their style is compatible with yours. 

Is the Person a Good Fit for me?

The most important question when it comes to choosing a coach is whether or not this particular person is someone with whom you feel comfortable working on sensitive topics like career growth or personal development. Do they understand where you are coming from and what unique challenges or experiences contribute to your journey?

How much will I be expected to invest?
